Most mornings it works like this: we all wake up around 7 (still far too early for me; I don’t think I will ever get used to waking up before 9), I get B. ready for KiTa while M. gets ready for work, I bid my two boys farewell and they head off for their days, I make coffee and eat something, and then I settle down in my office and work.
These past two days, however, I’ve been in charge of dropoff and pickup at KiTa because M. has been in Frankfurt for work stuff. I have an annual BVG pass but it’s not valid until after 10 a.m., so instead of paying for a ticket for such a short journey, we have been walking to KiTa. This morning I brought my new camera with me and took some photos on the way back. It has been a long time since I carried my camera around with me when not on vacation, but I think about doing it often and am glad I finally did today. It was also interesting because now that we’re no longer living in Wrangelkiez (after six years for me and a decade for my husband), I view the area in a different way. There’s a lot I miss, and almost just as much that I don’t miss.
