For the past few months, I’ve been working more frequently from the office of one of my clients, as opposed to at home most days, like normal. The plus side of this is spending my days in Prenzlauer Berg, getting to know Helmholtzkiez and its surroundings. The downside is that I have a commute that lasts about 50 minutes from my front door to the office.
Yesterday I worked later in the afternoon, so I decided to get a head start on my commute and do some walking around. Instead of taking the U-Bahn one stop and then transferring to the tram, I took a leisurely walk across the river, and made a stopover at Cupcake (writing about cupcakes earlier in the day made me hungry for one) before catching the M10 north. Even though it was cold, foggy, and gray (the weather has been reminding me of San Francisco lately), it was nice to get some fresh air. Plus, I am starting to get leg cramps at night, which is common for the second/third trimester of pregnancy, and the recommendation to help curb them is to be active and walk more. Hopefully, as it continues to get warmer, there will be plenty more walks to be had.
