My name is Natalye and I was born and raised in California, but have lived in Berlin since 2011. I started this website before I relocated as a way to chronicle the journey, and kept it going after the move, as a way to keep family and friends informed about my day-to-day life. Sometimes I post insightful reflections, but other times this blog is more of a way of chronicling my life through photos.
I currently live in Kreuzberg with my husband (a real Berliner!) and our two silly but lovely cats. For work, I do a handful of things, both regular and freelance, such as tutoring, writing, and editing. I also wrote a book, and it will be released in June of 2014 with the awesome folks over at Microcosm Publishing. I’m vegan and love to try new recipes or foods, so it’s not uncommon to find me experimenting in my newly remodeled kitchen. I also spend a lot of my free time reading, dabbling in photography, practicing my German, making mixes, and dreaming about all the places I want to visit. When the weather is warmer, I love to go bike riding, but the occasional walk is also high on my list.
