This past weekend I spent my Saturday taking an 8-kilometer walk through Friedrichshain, the area across the river from Kreuzberg. I ended up taking a route I don’t normally take, simply because I wanted to avoid the heavy traffic areas, as well as see something new. It was a very quiet walk, but also a bit industrial, with lots of empty lots and areas under construction. Toward the end of my walk, it was a bit like racing the sun, and not long after I returned home, it was dark again.
