This Garden is a Maze

Yesterday was the Vernal Equinox, which means it’s officially no longer winter! Granted, here in Berlin we were treated to one of the easiest winters in recent years, but I am still excited. With warm weather starting up a few weeks ago, I got my herb garden underway and already have a lot of cress and dill, along with basil, parsley, and chives on their way. And today, I began propagating my succulents, since I managed to kill a few of them in recent months (contrary to popular belief, it is really easy to mess up a succulent from things like too much water or direct sunlight). However, I am confident about this fresh start, because they didn’t seem to be in the best health anyway when we bought them from the garden center.

In the meantime, I have been going through old photos of mine and reminiscing on my last couple years in California. And all this talk of warm weather and growing plants really makes me miss having a proper backyard, so I wanted to share some photos of the backyard and garden back in Santa Rosa. I loved spending time there, whether sunbathing in the afternoon while reading a book, or sitting on the back patio in the evenings, enjoying a cold beer and good company. It was also a really rewarding feeling to eat food that you grew yourself.

P.S. This.
