For some reason, it has been sunny in Berlin. That’s not to say it’s warm, but at least there has been no snow or rain. I call that a win. Especially for my goal to walk more.
So today before work, I went on a walk down Wrangelstraße. This street is pretty long, and half of it is a regular part of my walking routine, but the other half I rarely, if ever, venture down. Yet if you go until the end, you reach Mariannenplatz, an open park space with lots of buildings and dog walkers.
I also was heading to the nearby Bio Company to get some kale and parsnip for soup later this week, and wanted to try a new way as opposed to following the U-Bahn like I always do. And although the route is less direct, it was a nice enough day to enjoy the walk there without having to rush because it was too cold. I just wouldn’t take this way every time, because it was not terribly interesting.
The way back, however, on Reichenbergerstraße, is quite something. I have never walked it with such good light from the winter sun, or without being in a hurry. Mentally, I have added it to my list of places to walk again at leisure, and there are tons of things I can’t wait to document with a camera.
