E&K.

Now, more than ever, lots of people I know are having babies. And for people in my age range (late 20s/early 30s), it’s just one of those things that happens a lot more frequently right now. Unfortunately, most of my baby-having friends live in the states, but every once in awhile, someone I know in Berlin has a kid.

Last week I went to meet one of Berlin’s newest babies, whose mother is also a California ex-pat living here. Little K. is only a few weeks old, and his big brother E. is finding how to balance loving on his little brother while learning how to adjust to no longer being the center of attention. During most of our visit, K. was either sleeping or eating, as newborns are wont to do. Meanwhile E. entertained us with his antics (he’s a sassy joker, even at 2.5 years) and made us help with “Zugtraintracks” – that’s Denglisch for setting up and playing with his trains. And while I am still enjoying being baby-free in my own life right now, I do love having a fix every once in awhile…
