This past weekend was the first time in a few weeks that it was warm and sunny and where both of us didn’t have obligations… and of course, M. got sick. In spite of this, however, we decided not to break our plans with his brother, which consisted of going to Grunewald for the afternoon. And in hindsight, it appears as though the sunshine was good for all of us.
Our trek started with a walk through the area, followed by a short, steep hike up a mountain of debris which led to a great view over the city. We spread out a blanket and sat at the top where there was a nice, cool breeze.
Then we went back down and wandered through the greenery, stopping at a rock climbing facility, visiting the Ökowerk (where we got ice cream), seeing some naked people at Teufelsee, and walking through a nature reserve with a sand dune. All in all, a successful day.
