August is a busy month for birthdays, and at the end of the month, M. gets his turn, so this weekend has been fun-filled yet relaxing. On Friday—after a celebratory bash at work organized by his colleagues—we went for dinner with his dad and checked out a pizza place in our Kiez that we’d been meaning to go to for some time, followed by ice cream at our normal spot.

On Saturday we parted ways, as he stayed at home to relax and get some personal things done, while I headed to the Torstraßen Festival with a friend. Today was his celebration with friends, and we went to his normal spot, Salon Schmück, where we spent 4-5 hours of hanging around and drinking, eating, and talking. Luckily, the rain from earlier in the day let up, so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the daylight and the company.
