Viktoriapark/Kreuzberg

A few weeks ago, I took a solitary walk through Viktoriapark. Although it was a cool fall day, interspersed with rain, the park was still lush and green, which is much different from how it was the first time I went there, in the beginning of winter.

Although I don’t find myself on that side of Kreuzberg very often, it still holds a lot of sentimental meeting; my first date with M. was spent wandering the streets of Kreuzberg, walking through his old Kiez and seeing his childhood home, the schools he attended, the places he used to play, and other spots he frequented. So whenever I return to this place it feels not only like a place of refuge, but also a place of beginnings, where new and amazing things take form. For that reason, I will probably always love this place. It is a place many people enjoy and spend time at, but for me, it was always be “our” place.
