First things first. It’s now a day past my due date and no baby. But I’m not terribly annoyed or impatient; it is what it is. Either way, I know that within the week that will change, though I am hoping I don’t have to be induced. In the meantime, we’re still making the most of this uncertainty. On Saturday, for example, when it was in the high 80s, we went to The Ice Cream Market to sample the offerings. We returned home just as the thunderstorms began, and spent our evening watching shows (“Sense8” for M. and “Orange Is the New Black” for me). I also ended up finishing two books: Jeanette Winterson’s “Weight: The Myth of Atlas and Heracles,” and La Leche League’s “The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding.” Now I’m about 75% of the way through with “Water for Elephants,” which is pretty well written, though it bums me out to read since it’s not very vegan…
On Sunday, things cooled down a bit, thankfully, as the weather the day before was a bit intense; I love having a super hot day here and there, but I’m not so fond of a bunch in a row. We didn’t have much on our agenda for the day except to get outside, which we did. In the early afternoon, we met up with some friends of ours and walked around, visiting a local flea market that takes place every Sunday, and just hanging out and talking about books, parenting, etc. As 6pm neared, we parted ways and went home to make dinner, after which we did more reading and watching TV. The days sort of feel like they’re in limbo as we’re just waiting, but it’s also really nice to not have any sort of pressure to do anything, and no strict sleep schedule to stick to. Though I suppose not for long…
