I realize I haven’t posted much in terms of an update on our kitchen remodel, but that’s because once the walls were painted and the flooring installed, the progress slowed down significantly. Since we opted to construct everything ourselves, that took some time, and there were various setbacks such as missing the proper attachments for the sink, having to cut the holes in our countertop, making the dishwasher and stove the same level as everything else, adding silicon sealant between the countertop and the sink and the countertop and the stove, and even more. So, suffice to say, the process has been slow-going.
The good news is that in a few days, it will have been a month since the kitchen remodel began (the labor part anyway), and all that remains to be done is the hanging of a couple of shelves, and the installation of lights underneath them. Then we will have our completed kitchen!
However, we have already begun using it again and I must say, I am quite happy with it. I am also super proud of M., who put in a lot more labor and hard work than I did, and grateful for F., who donated a lot of his time and expertise in helping M. with the harder jobs that I am not so skilled at, such as transporting heavy things, hanging stuff evenly, and lending us particular tools that we needed.
Here are more photos of the process, and I hope that before the year’s end, I will be able to post the completed pictures of our brand new kitchen!
