Given that soup is best in the colder months, I opted to make the Arabian Lentil & Rice Soup (page 206) this winter. But unfortunately it was just “eh.” The flavor was nothing spectacular, and the rice in the soup was a little bit too much for me to get behind. As I like the various ingredients in the soup, and since it’s not so difficult to find them (most I already had on hand), I might be convinced to make this soup again with a lot of variation, but even so, there are more interesting soups to be had.
