Prenzlauer Berg Architecture

pberg

It’s sort of a running joke now between myself and a few friends, all of who live in Prenzlauer Berg, that I never make it to their part of town. What’s more is that it’s sort of true… I don’t regularly leave Kreuzberg, but since I work from home and have vegan food and ice cream, awesome coffee, and dozens of venues within walking distance, I have no real reason to. At the same time, that’s sort of the Berlin way of life, I think, to stay put where you live (not counting people who commute across town or who have ridiculous amounts of free time for wandering and exploring).

However, I am slowly getting better about Prenzlauer Berg. I certainly would not be able to give very many good directions because I am mostly clueless as to how everything is laid out, but I tend to be there a few times a month now, as opposed to once every six months, so I am slowly getting a feel for it. Additionally, one of my clients’ offices is there so whether I am there for a meeting or just stopping by to do some work for a few hours, it gives me the opportunity to explore the neighborhood and the really interesting architecture.
