This weekend didn’t go entirely as planned, but we still managed to get stuff done. On Saturday I worked a bit, we got groceries for the weekend, I finished “Modern Romance,” and in the afternoon we made our way to Ian and Ebe‘s new place for Matilda‘s first birthday. It was a nice evening out with unicorns and rainbows and babies and beer.
On Sunday afternoon we had M.’s mother over to spend time with the kid so that they get to know each other better and we can go on a date to see “Star Wars” next month. The thought of leaving him with anyone other than his daddy makes me anxious, regardless of their qualifications, so we figured warming ourselves up to it will make it easier for him (but mostly me). After she left, our plan was to hit up a Kinder Flohmarkt, but I started feeling achy. Sure enough, the chills hit, so we opted to stay home (and I finished “The Circle” too). Staying home was the right call, as I battled a fever all night long. It didn’t help matters that the kid’s second (!) tooth came through overnight, so he kept us up until we finally opted for the pain reliever. Luckily, my fever broke in the morning, though I haven’t felt “sick,” so I really wonder what caused it. Today it rained, so I had no qualms about cuddling with the baby and napping most of the day.
